Be Like Mike is a television advertisement for Gatorade starring American professional basketball player Michael Jordan.

Dirty Jobs Michael Gregory Rowe (born March 18, 1962) is an American television host and narrator. He is known for his work on the Discovery Channel series Dirty Jobs and the series Somebody's Gotta Do It originally developed for CNN.

While the advertisement did not drastically improve sales for Gatorade, it helped to further portray Jordan as a likable superstar, endearing him to children who wished to emulate his play. In subsequent years, the advertisement has been cited as one of the best sports commercials ever.

1991 “Be Like Mike” first ran in 1991 and became one of the most famous sports ads ever. The spot, from the agency Bayer Bess Vanderwarker, has occasionally been revised by Gatorade, including in 2015 when the brand restored and relaunched it to celebrate Gatorade's 50th anniversary.

Rowe sang professionally with the Baltimore Opera. He says about this job, “I joined the opera to get my union card and meet girls. I was a saloon singer, so I went down to the Baltimore Opera and learned an aria and auditioned. I figured I'd do one show and quit.

His career began when he crashed an audition for the Baltimore Opera Company, where he wound up singing for seven seasons and then, very nearly ended when he was fired from the QVC Cable Shopping Channel, for reasons he now admits were “entirely justifiable.”

LIKE MIKE also has a strong moral worldview with a positive outlook on faith and prayer. There are only a few minor objectionable elements in the movie, but the main context of the movie is Calvin's faith and the support he gets from his friends. Calvin also helps other people and displays honesty.

Finals. “Be Like Mike” first ran in 1991 and “became one of the most famous sports ads ever.” The new campaign is “all about putting a point down to broaden Gatorade, its relevance to multiple athletes in multiple spaces” (ADWEEK, 6/9).
