One of Stitch Fix's problems is that it is losing money. The company dipped into the red in fiscal 2020, which ended in August of that year. It has been unprofitable since that point, with fiscal 2023 shaping up to be yet another year in the negative column.

Stitch Fix's hardships continue as the company faces high costs and a decline in demand for its styling service. In the past year, the company has struggled to grow its customer base while dealing with a tight labor market and supply chain issues.

Upon opening a Stitch Fix account, you'll be charged a $20 styling fee, which is credited toward any pieces you keep. The $20 fee applies to every Fix, but so does the credit. As long as you plan on keeping at least one item from each box, the service is essentially free. In that way, Stitch Fix is definitely worth it.
