Combining everything that makes the Caped Crusader a hero and the Clown Prince a killer, the Batman Who Laughs teams up with another evil version of Batman known as the Grim Knight, to turn Bruce Wayne's home of Gotham City into an incubator for evil.

He was created by Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo. His name is an allusion both to the original Batman's seriousness and to the 1928 film The Man Who Laughs featuring Conrad Veidt, by whose performance the Joker is inspired.

Within his own Batcave, the Batman Who Laughs has finally removed the bandages on the mystery man's face, revealing him to be the Over-Monitor.

Also there are connections to the themes of Snyder's New 52 Batman run, placing Batman Who Laughs firmly in the Snyder canon - more so, even, than Dark Nights: Metal, since Laughs is set firmly in the Gotham that looms so large in Snyder's books.

Refusing to give up, Diana strikes back at the Darkest Knight, pushing him forward through time, sending him into the dying embers of Earth's sun.

He has all the same abilities and training of The Batman, who is the second smartest man on earth, one of the greatest strategists in all existence and one of the best martial artists. But.. he is even more than an evil Batman. He is Batman's GREATEST fear, a living nightmare.

The plot is based on the Joker's original introduction in Batman #1 (1940). The title is a reference to Victor Hugo's novel The Man Who Laughs, whose main character was one of the original inspirations for the Joker.

Another weapon that the Batman Who Laughs uses is Black Kryptonite. It's a horrible weapon that he used on Superman and Supergirl. It unleashed horrifying nightmares for readers. It's a synthesized strain of kryptonite that was used to drive Supergirl insane and forced her to kill her own family.

Batman's relationship with Selina Kyle, the Catwoman, is the most enduring and iconic of his relationships.

While it might seem that Batman would quickly lose in a fight against Goku, given enough prep time the Dark Knight would be able to defeat the Saiyan. In the realm of "who would win in a fight" debates, characters like Batman from DC Comics and Goku from the Dragon Ball franchise are constant fixtures.
