The top 30 players will battle for the FedExCup in the serenity of Georgia's East Lake Golf Club. The event's purse is $75 million, with the winner receiving $18 million of that.

The first of three playoff events will be headlined by favorite Scottie Scheffler, set at +650 at DraftKings Sportsbook. Rory McIlroy, Jon Rahm, Patrick Cantlay, and Xander Schauffele also join the field.

The three FedEx Cup events carry more points than any other events on the PGA Tour schedule. The winner of each of the next three tournaments earns 2,000 FedEx Cup points. Second place earns 1,200 points, third place takes 760 points, fourth place is awarded 540 points and fifth place gets 440 points.

From January through mid-August players compete in "regular season" events and earn FedEx Cup points, in addition to prize money. At the end of the regular season, the top 125 FedEx Cup points winners are eligible to compete in the "playoffs", four events taking place from mid-August to mid-September.

The two winners move on to play the top two seeds in an 18-hole semifinal match on Sunday afternoon. The winners then square off on Monday (Labor Day) in a 36-hole match to determine the FedEx Cup champion.

The TOUR Championship is the culminating event of the PGA TOUR Playoffs for the FedEx Cup, with the top 30 players on the points list qualifying each year.

The points system for the FedEx Cup is relatively simple. Golfers receive 500 points for winning normal PGA Tour events, while a select handful of events - the World Golf Championship, The Genesis Invitational, the Arnold Palmer Invitational and the Memorial Tournament - are worth 550.
