While Calm certainly doesn't replace in-person or online therapy for mental health concerns, I found it to be a great adjunct tool for stress and anxiety relief, meditation and guided breathing.

Calm has the option for users to access either a 7-day free trial or the free version of the app without paying for premium contact. Calm is built on a “freemium” model. Without purchase, you get access to: daily meditations.

Headspace works as an alternative to Calm for those looking for a more comprehensive approach to meditation and mindfulness. With its guided meditations, personalized programs, and trackers, Headspace is designed to help you build the best practices into your life to achieve optimal well-being.

Anapanasati, mindfulness of breathing, is a core meditation practice in Theravada, Tiantai and Chan traditions of Buddhism as well as a part of many mindfulness programs.
