If you want a foot pedal and are used to the cable drive trolling motors then the Ultrex is definitely the choice. I hate using a foot pedal, never have, never will. Ulterra is the way to go if you got the pockets. If not, the Terrova is excellent.

You can you can keep your boat still in in slack. Water. But the motor is going to continue to uh compensate back and forth and you're basically going to end up just going around in circles.

Spot-Lock engages the motor to keep it in the Arrival Circle around the Spot-Lock location. If i-Pilot or i-Pilot Link sees the motor is within the Arrival Circle, it will adjust the motor speed to zero.

The Ulterra would likely be preferable if you do a lot of trolling or sitting over submerged structure. The Ultrex would be better for dipping timber or dock shooting, where careful maneuvering around obstacles is needed.
