Unfortunately, he also promoted FTX, which got him in legal trouble. The biggest reason why Shaq appears in so many commercials is his popularity.

Some of the franchises Shaquille owns include Papa John's, Auntie Annie's, Five Guys, 24-hour Fitness Centers, Car Washes, and Krispy Kreme. He has other business ventures outside of franchising, such as Lyft and JCPenney.

In a new episode on Complex's “Sneaker Shopping” hosted by Joe La Puma, O'Neal explained the specifics of why he rejected Nike's offer. It's pretty clear. “When I got drafted, they gave me the opportunity to have my own shoe - Reebok,” O'Neal said. “Nike was interested, but they didn't want me to have my own shoe.”
