Lime Away is very hard on stainless steel. I think they have a warning on the bottle about this. You can get rid of the lime stains with a citric cleaner safely, but once you have the black surface from the LimeAway it is very hard to fix.

If you want to infuse still more citrus-y goodness into your water, drop the wedge into the water after you've squeezed it. For an even deeper flavor, keep your lime water in the fridge overnight.

After filling a glass with water, squeeze juice from one or two limes into the glass. For the best results, drink lime water without sugar or other additives.

Lime-Away, kitchen de-greasers and other chemical products can leave black marks on stainless steel, which can be removed with a mild abrasive and some elbow grease. For a sink with a brushed finish, scrub in the direction of the grain. Rinse completely after scrubbing.

To remove limescale from a stainless steel sink

  1. Mix up a solution of water (five parts) and white vinegar (one part)
  2. Using a soft cloth or sponge carefully clean away each hard water stain.
  3. Rinse the sink to remove any remaining solution.
  4. Dry the sink and polish the taps.
