If your account has an e-filed return, whether it was rejected or accepted, the account cannot be deleted. Accounts that have prior year accepted or rejected e-filed returns also cannot be deleted. The IRS requires we retain this information for a period of 3 years after the tax filing year.

I need to delete my file went to h&r block. You can't delete an account. You can clear your return if you haven't paid or registered by clicking on My Account then Clear and Start Over.

Ensure that the Tax Return is the correct one and that you wish to delete it, then click Delete Tax Return. You will be asked to confirm that you wish to delete the return. WARNING: Deleted Tax Returns cannot be recovered, so please take care when deleting.

If you didn't claim the correct filing status or you need to change your income, deductions, or credits, you should file an amended or corrected return using Form 1040-X, Amended U.S. Individual Income Tax Return.

You can also delete your H&R Block account completely and start over by creating a new one. Choose Account Settings in the left-hand menu and choose Delete This Account. Note that if you choose this option, you won't have access to any current or prior-year returns that were in that account.
