The ingenious flavor combination in each of these treats can be traced back to 1928, when H.B. Reese, an employee of The Hershey Company, created REESE'S Peanut Butter Cups in his basement. Most Reese's candies are gluten-free, including Reese's peanut butter cups and Reese's Fast Break candy bars. However, Reese's seasonal shapes are made in a factory that presents a risk of cross contamination.

Are Reese's Peanut Butter Cups vegan? Because they're covered in milk chocolate, the original Reese's Peanut Butter Cups are not vegan. However, a new dairy-free, oat-based version of the recipe, called Reese's Plant Based, has recently been released (more on that below!).

Unfortunately, all peanut butter cup flavors listed on the Reese's website are not vegan as they contain milk-based products.
