The title character of Sega's Sonic the Hedgehog video game franchise, Sonic is an anthropomorphic blue hedgehog who can run at supersonic speeds and curl into a ball to attack enemies. He races through levels, collecting power-up rings and avoiding obstacles, as he seeks to defeat the mad scientist Doctor Eggman.

Jagodowski and Peter Grosz have been the face of the Sonic Drive-In commercials in some form since 2004, aside from a brief period when they were phased out. Most of those commercials are improvised and unscripted, owing to the skills of each of the men.

According to technical documents, Sonic was actually born on Christmas Island, fighting Dr. Eggman over the possession of the Chaos Emeralds. The westernized story takes place on Planet Mobius. Here we see a friendship between Sonic and genius professor Dr.

The corporation evolved from the Top Hat Drive-In (later Sonic) in Shawnee, Oklahoma, a restaurant founded in 1953 by Troy Smith. After three failed restaurant ventures, Smith opened the Top Hat, an abandoned root beer stand, to serve hamburgers and hot dogs cooked to order.

“We wanted to start expanding our stories, so we've shifted our emphasis,” Abou Habib told Adweek. “We're focusing on food because the product itself has a bit of a personality.” Instead of having the Sonic story told through the eyes of other people, the brand is taking the reins.

Instead, Mother worked within the framing of Sonic's previous ads, switching from an improv comedy construct to a reality TV one, using a reality TV crew and eschewing scripts. Instead of two guys, the ads feature families communicating about the charms of the Sonic experience from prompts.

The comics follow the adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog and his friends, called the Freedom Fighters, who battle against the evil Doctor Robotnik. Initially based on the plot of the 1993 animated series, the comic later incorporated elements from the games and other media.

It's the usual male character who may not look super masculine on the outside but has very "manly" qualities such as confidence, stoicism, and independence.

Sonic was blue to match Sega Sonic's iconic colour was purely chosen because Sega wanted him to match their logo colour. Sonic himself was picked as Sega's mascot after the company ran an in-house competition to see who could come up with the best idea. Naoto Ohshima won the competition with his blue hedgehog!

The origins of Sonic can be traced farther back to a draft created by Naoto Ōshima in 1989, which years later turned into Sonic. Yuji Naka implemented the idea of a character running inside loops with an algorithm that allowed a sprite to move smoothly on a curve by determining its position with a dot matrix.

Service at the Speed of Sound™ Back then, SONIC revolutionized the ordering process by using curbside speakers that allowed customers to place food orders without ever leaving their cars. This technology spawned the slogan “Service at the Speed of Sound™,” which translated to one word: SONIC.
