Frequently Asked Questions about skyy vodka tv spot, 'text'

That is why the popular company slogan is "Vodka so filtered - we even took the Russia out of it".

For quite some time, Skyy Vodka has been a textbook example of how to objectify and sexualize women. Their ads often portray womankind as man's well-deserved reward, a way to signify and celebrate the high life. In the process, women's bodies are presented as if they're a product to be consumed along with the alcohol.

Skyy is made from wheat using four-column distillation and filtered through calcium carbonate, cellulose plates and granular carbon.

The resulting vodka was incredibly smooth, one that made the perfect martini. Now all Kanbar needed was a name. Looking out his eighth-floor window at the San Francisco Bay, he immediately christened his creation SKYY. “'What an incredible sky,'” he recalls saying.

In addition to being quadruple-distilled and triple-filtered, SKYY's award-winning distillate is diluted with water enhanced with minerals, including Pacific minerals sourced from the San Francisco Bay Area.

Skyy vodka tastes smooth. There is very little hint of flavor, and virtually no bitterness. Skyy seems to freeze well, making the liquid thick. It swallows well with a slight burn on the way down.

Skyy is easily smoother than Smirnoff, and tastes better than Absolut! The formula for Skyy vodka came from a chemist after inventing a new distillation technique that removes unwanted by-products that cause hangover and bad taste. One of two I give 5 stars. Great bottle, great price, great taste.

Changes or no, Skyy remains a perfectly acceptable and versatile vodka, exceptionally clean from start to finish. A light medicinal note informs a steely mineral quality on the nose, plus a hint of pepper that holds at bay what seems to be some sweeter elements.

Skyy claims to be one of the first vodkas made entirely with American grains and water. It also pioneered proprietary quadruple-column distillation and triple-filtering processes. Skyy says its methods remove impurities and bring out a “citrusy, spice-like scent.”

Etymology. The name vodka is a diminutive form of the Slavic word voda (water), interpreted as "waterkin": root vod- [water] + -k- (diminutive suffix, among other functions) + -a (ending of feminine gender). In English literature, the word vodka appeared in around the late 18th century.

Skyy vodka tastes smooth. There is very little hint of flavor, and virtually no bitterness.

If you're getting a midrange vodka, get Skyy. It is definitely not a premium (although it's better than some $30 bottles), but it's the best in its pricerange. one of the better "big vodka" brands of the u.s. smoother and a bit lighter than smirnoff red label, but hardly worth the extra cash.
