M&M'S Crunchy Cookie Chocolate Candy, of course! This flavor is the best of both worlds, the perfect mix between classic M&M'S and nostalgic chocolate chip cookies. Crispy M&M's were first released in 1999, but discontinued in the U.S. after 2005. Some American M&M enthusiasts, however, had been able to satisfy their hunger by ordering the Crispy chocolates online, where they are imported from areas where the candy is still available: in Europe, Australia and Southeast Asia.

In 1999, Crispy M&M's were released. They were slightly larger than the milk chocolate variety and also featured a crispy wafer center. Crispy M&M's were discontinued in the United States in 2005, before being reintroduced in 2015; however, they remained continually available in Europe and Australia.

M&M's, the ubiquitous candy brand owned by Mars Wrigley, announced on Monday that it would take “an indefinite pause” from its “spokescandies,” deciding that the cartoon characters with arms, legs and minimal facial features were simply too divisive for a polarized America to take.

M&Ms were first sold in 1941, and the characters arrived on the scene in 1954. Old M&Ms commercials starred Red and Yellow, representing regular and peanut M&Ms. In the late 1990s, new characters were added to the mix. Brown, the most recent addition, joined the crew in 2012.

M&M's characters

M&M's became the focus of a partisan backlash after the brand made a number of stylistic tweaks to its cast of “spokescandies” last year. In January 2022, the brand replaced the green M&M's knee-high boots with flats and swapped the brown M&M's stilettos for lower heels.

Fox News derisively deemed the brand “woke” after the brand altered the characters' shoes. Tucker Carlson complained about the candy characters' new and, from his perspective, less “sexy” look. “M&M's will not be satisfied until every last cartoon character is deeply unappealing,” Carlson said.

The two 'M's in the name actually represent Forrest E. Mars Sr. – the founder of Mars – and Bruce Murrie, the son of Hershey Chocolate's president William F. R.

The original idea for M&M's is quite surprising. It was sparked when Forrest Mars saw soldiers eating Smarties during the Spanish Civil War. They were able to travel with the candies due to the hard shell around the chocolate in the middle preventing it from melting. This inspired Forrest to make a similar thing.

The limited-edition packaging, available in milk chocolate, peanut butter and peanut varieties, is designed to honor women changing the world and "flipping" antiquated gender roles and ideas. Each pack depicts the green, brown and purple M&M's, flipped upside down.
