The Cube provides full access to Amazon's Alexa voice assistant, which you can use without the remote.

The Fire TV Cube is essentially a full-fledged Echo speaker that can stream as well. It has a built-in 1.6-inch (40mm) speaker and eight far-field omnidirectional microphones that can pick up your voice from across the room.

1. Go to Settings on your Fire TV.
2. Select Accessibility .
3. Select VoiceView.

Although you cannot uninstall Alexa, there are a few things you can do to turn it off. To stop Alexa from coming up when home is held, go to Settings>Device Options and look for the Alexa title, on my Kindle it's the 4th title down from the top, then tap the slider to make it so Alexa doesn't come up when home is held.

Other than this, there's little to fault about the Fire TV Cube. It's Amazon's best and fastest 4K streamer with a slick interface and a strong set of features. You may or may not find voice controls essential, but having them built in is a definite plus, especially when you can't lay your hands on the remote.
