The DAV movement has grown to become the single largest non-governmental educational society in the country, managing 750+ educational institutions, apart from D.A.V. Public Schools spread over the country and even in foreign lands, with an annual budget of more than INR ₹2 billion.

The idea to form the Disabled American Veterans arose at a Christmas party in 1919 hosted by Cincinnati Superior Court Judge Robert Marx, a U.S. Army Captain and World War I veteran who had been injured in the Meuse-Argonne Offensive in November 1918.

The term "veteran" means a person who served in the active military, naval, or air service, and who was discharged or released therefrom under conditions other than dishonorable.

Freedom is the aspect in life that everyone craves. Not only do people crave freedom, some countries deprive their citizens of such a thing. Thankfully, our veterans have helped fight for our freedom for centuries.
