This is a really good film. The performances, action scenes and cinematography were fantastic. I think the representation of bad ass black women was incredible. Pacing issues and historical inaccuracies aside, The Woman King has great action and moving characters brought to life by a fantastic ensemble cast.
The Agojie, one of the first all-female military units in history, are thought to have been created by Queen Hangbe, daughter of King Houegbadja.
