DEARBORN, Mich., Dec. 13, 2022 – The new 2023 Ford Escape®, the perfect getaway vehicle to conquer daily adventures, has earned an overall Good rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety after successfully completing updated front overlap crash testing.
The Escape is a competitive small SUV, but only the hybrid version is reliable. We got 26 mpg overall in our tests of the standard 1.5-liter turbo three-cylinder. Although it provides sufficient oomph, it has some vibration at low engine speeds and a rather tinny sound.
A compact SUV with seating for five, the 2006 Ford Escape is available in a range of trims; from the base XLS up to the Hybrid version which is capable of 36 mpg in the city and 31 mpg on the highway.
