So what does "All-American" mean? Well, it refers to the idea that the players have been selected from all across America. The term "All-American" was first coined in 1889 by Casper Whitney and Walter Camp. These two men wrote for a magazine called The Week's Sport that wanted to recognize excellent college athletes.

The original club sandwich was turkey, ham and roast beef. There was also a sandwich called the Subway Melt (available in select markets), that had turkey, ham and bacon, which is a more traditional version of a club, and was re-released a couple years back under a new name, the “American” club.

The arrow pointing left in the S and the arrow point right in the Y of the Subway logo symbolize the entrance and exit of a Subway. It represents that you can have food on the way. The National Geographic logo consists of a simple yellow Portrait Frame or a Door to visit Science, Nature, History, Culture and Reality.

The Saratoga Club House claims to have originated the club sandwich, and that “club” is just shorthand for clubhouse. That's why some people refer to a club sandwich as a clubhouse sandwich.
