Placing Your HydroWave Speaker: The speaker for the HydroWave will be deployed into the water when you want to use it. For most bass anglers, this means the speaker is mounted to the lower unit on their trolling motor.

The guiding principle is to put your speakers where they have a clear line to your ears, with the least amount of interference from walls and other surfaces. As a final step in the placement process, try "aiming" your speakers at your listening position. Start with both speakers parallel to the back wall.

Remember that walls reflect sound, too. Speakers should be at least 2-3 feet away from the nearest wall (especially if your speaker is in a corner). Many speakers have rear-facing bass ports. Positioning a rear bass port too close to the wall will reflect sound waves, resulting in time smearing.

Range. Bluetooth speakers connect at varying ranges. Most will reach distances of around 30 feet (9 meters) all the way up to 100 feet (30 meters), depending on the size and style you choose.

As you adjust your home stereo's EQ for music, start with a neutral setting. All high, mid and low dials should be at zero, where you can adjust to taste. Low frequencies help you feel the music through the bass and kick drum.

Usually you hear about the equilateral triangle rule where you place your speakers. As far apart as you're sitting. So if you're sitting 10 feet away you place your speakers 10 feet apart generally

Speaker separation. Try to get about 4 feet of separation for bookshelf speakers or 8 feet for floorstanding speakers. If your speakers are too close, sounds will blend together and become muddy. If they are too far apart, there will be a gap between the two halves of the stereo image (more on this later).

A speaker's frequency response range is a measurement of how wide a selection of sounds it can reproduce. The human ear is capable of hearing sounds from 20-20,000 Hz. The lower the number, the lower the tone and vice versa. Most speakers are capable of responding from around 45-20,000 Hz.

The stiffer the cone, the less likely it is to produce distortion - and the clearer the sound is. Tweeters can be made from metal, fabric, or plastic. There are innumerable great-sounding speakers with metal or fabric tweeters, but I've never heard a good one with a plastic tweeter.

Ideal speaker frequency response would cover the full spectrum of human hearing, i.e., 20 Hz to 20,000 Hz, with a smooth response across this range.
