11,175 units The latest monthly production figure brings the total number of 2023 Cadillac Lyriq EVs produced to 11,175 units assembled at the GM Spring Hill plant in Tennessee, which GM upgraded as part of a $2 billion investment to bring the facility up to spec for electric vehicle production.

Following its inaugural 2023 model year, the 2024 Cadillac Lyriq returns with an updated trim level lineup and new features for the all-electric luxury crossover. Now, GM Authority has learned that more 2024 Lyriq trim levels have begun shipping to dealerships across the United States.

So far this year, Cadillac Lyriq sales exceeded 2,300 units (3.1 percent of the total sales), while cumulatively it's more than 2,400. Cadillac BEV sales YTD in 2023: Lyriq: 2,316 (new) and 3.1% share.

In fact, Cadillac recently announced that it plans to fulfill all 2023 Cadillac Lyriq Debut Edition orders by the end of Q1 2023. Interestingly, of the over 8,000 units that were produced last year, only 122 examples of the Cadillac Lyriq were delivered.

As for how Cadillac came up with Lyriq specifically, Dauchy explained that the name is a nod to the fact that Cadillac is the most mentioned brand in songs. No other brand (not just automotive brands) is mentioned in more songs than Cadillac.

The 2024 Cadillac Lyriq is a five-passenger midsize electric SUV. For its second year of production, the Lyriq is available in far more configurations than the 2023 model. The new Tech trim is the base version, followed by the 1, 2 and 3 trim levels, which are each available in the Luxury and Sport styling themes.

Cadillac's first entrant into the luxury electric vehicle market is the Lyriq SUV, which offers sharp styling and a modern cabin. Both single-motor rear-wheel drive and dual-motor all-wheel drive models will be offered, the former offering up to 312 miles of range per charge.

Harvey admitted to a slow ramp-up of the Lyriq and Hummer, but points to battery module availability as the only supply part hiccup. GM gets the battery cells from Ultium Cells LLC in northeast Ohio, a battery plant it just opened last year as part of a joint venture with LG Energy Solution.

What's New for 2023? Not only is Lyriq a brand-new nameplate for the American luxury brand, but it's also Cadillac's first all-electric offering. It's intended to go head to head with heavy hitters such as the Audi e-tron, Jaguar I-Pace, and Tesla Model X.

By the time General Motors purchased the company in 1909, Cadillac had already established itself as one of America's premier luxury car makers. The complete interchangeability of its precision parts had allowed it to lay the foundation for the modern mass production of automobiles.

Year-to-date sales amounted to 75,198 (up 21 percent year-over-year). Cadillac's all-electric car sales also increased. In Q2, the company delivered 1,348 Lyriq, which is the highest quarterly result so far. On the other hand, it does not seem to be a high volume, compared to four quarters of ramp-up.
