The LG C2 OLED, the successor to the very popular LG C1 OLED, is a mid-range OLED TV sitting above the LG B2 OLED and below the 'Gallery Style' LG G2 OLED in LG's 2022 OLED lineup.

LG uses an OLED panel that consists of an additional green emitting layer to reach these higher peak brightness levels. Additionally, the OLED evo panel improves the blue OLED material's efficiency, which helps boost the color range.

In OLED, these pixels also provide the picture's light. According to LG, each of the self-emissive pixels in OLED evo produces more light per pixel than before. It also claims a better red and blue brightness and an added green element.

The C2, its OLED evo panel, and the TV's a9 Gen 5 processor deliver brighter highlights in a very particular way. SDR content (cable TV broadcasts, most streaming content, and older Blu-rays) is, on the whole, brighter than it's been on previous LG OLEDs. The entire picture has a little more oomph in SDR.

The LG C2 OLED is slightly better than the LG C1 OLED, although the performance of the two is quite similar. The C2 is a bit brighter, especially in SDR and when displaying small, bright highlights in HDR.

OLED TVs are the best-looking TVs you can buy, delivering extremely high image contrast, rich colors, smooth motion, and much better viewing angles than LCD TVs offer. They carry a higher price, but they're a worthwhile upgrade for anyone who is truly passionate about movies or gaming.

If you want a top-spec OLED TV at a fairly entry-level price, the compact and now-discounted LG C3 is absolutely the way to go on account of its superb features, performance and price combination. OLED has better contrast and black level QLED/LCD TVs, even the best ones with the most effective full-array local dimming, let some light through, leading to more washed-out, grayer black levels and blooming around bright sections.

The LG C2 42 has decent HDR peak brightness. It gets bright enough to make small highlights pop, and the overall scene is good enough for a satisfying HDR experience. The EOTF follows the target perfectly until there's a sharp roll-off at the peak brightness, causing a loss of fine details in bright scenes.
