The 2019 Hoyt Helix was a flagship hunting bow with a machined aluminum riser. Though the Helix has been discontinued, used models are still available and Hoyt still offers the Turbo version of the Helix, which has a shortened, sub-6-inch brace height for a little extra speed and a slightly modified cam system.

The largest difference, which is a pretty significant difference, is the makeup of the riser. The Helix has the newly designed aluminum riser and the Hoyt REDWRX Carbon RX-3 has the newly designed carbon riser.

How often should I replace my strings and cables? Hoyt recommends that a bow's strings and cables should be changed when wear is evident or every two years under normal use conditions.

With proper care, a bowstring should last at least 2,000 shots, and even 3,000 shots doesn't automatically mean a string will be severely worn. Keep in mind it's likely some of your customers won't shoot that many times in a decade.

two to three years Generally, a quality set of bowstrings can last several thousand shots when properly cared for. But even if you hang up your rig for a few months after the season (or do a mid-season checkup) and don't shoot as often as you ought to, you shouldn't wait longer than two to three years to replace strings.

The Hoyt has the smoothest and best draw cycle out of every bow I have ever shot. This is important when trying to up your poundage. The Mathews draw cycle was just a little more aggressive. I was super surprised with my findings here.
