The crispy, craveable potato nuggets have a deep-fried crust and lightly salted flavor that makes them downright irresistible. Nobody does tots like Sonic.

Sonic Extreme Tots are tater tots that are loaded with chili, cheese, jalapenos slices, and so much more. These are a great change from nachos. Loaded tater tots is one of my favorite comfort foods.

The Tots are produced by American food-processing company Lamb Weston, one of the world's largest producers of frozen potato products and maker of the best frozen french fries according to our taste tests. If tater tots aren't your thing, there are plans to release frozen Sonic Fries later this year.

They're not bad, but they are more expensive than many other frozen tater tots at the grocery store, and they don't crisp up like the top tots on our list of the best. If you have a bag of these, great. You'll like them. If you don't, don't rush out to buy them.

Directions

1. Cook frozen tater tots according to the directions on the package.
2. Place tater tots into a bowl or paper boat and cover with chili and cheddar cheese. Microwave for 45 seconds or until the cheese is melted. Top with white onions, pickled jalapeños, and a drizzle of ranch dressing. Serve warm.

You need Sonic's BBQ Chip Seasoned Tots The barbecue seasoning was sprinkled on after the tots were cooked, rather than being incorporated in the fried potato mixture; though unevenly distributed, it gave all the tots a reddish-orange appearance compared to a non-BBQ tot (which I ordered for comparison).
