Paramount Pictures' "Fletch" is a classic comedy film released in 1985, starring Chevy Chase as the titular character, investigative reporter Irwin M. Fletcher. The movie follows Fletch as he investigates a drug trafficking ring that operates out of a Los Angeles beach club.
In 2020, it was announced that a reimagining of the film, entitled "Confess, Fletch," was in the works at Miramax, with Jon Hamm attached to play the lead role. The movie will be based on Gregory Mcdonald's "Fletch" books, just like the original, but this time it will be entirely different and set in present day. Hamm will play Fletch who is eager for a break from the journalism industry. This flick will have a different tone from the original and is supposed to be a bit more serious.
The director and writer for the film, Greg Mottola, has expressed his excitement about the project and working with Hamm. There is no official release date as of now, but reports suggest that the project is moving forward and will likely hit theaters in the next few years.
