Performance of the Nike Kyrie 4: The Kyrie 4 is the best overall performer of the Kyrie signature line and works well across all categories. The cushioning is much more comfortable than in previous models and provides great impact protection while still offering responsive court feel.

Nike Kyrie 4 Kyrie Irving's fourth signature shoe for Nike, the Kyrie 4 is engineered for explosive play. The mid-top silhouette employs breathable mesh and suede panels throughout the upper, bolstered by a foam midsole with Zoom Air in the heel.

The Kyrie 2 was released in 2015 and featured an updated look that was revolutionary for a basketball shoe. It was inspired by motorcycle tires since players tend to careen around the court at dangerously low angles.

A “grid-patterned mesh” is the main material used on the Kyrie Low 4 which is great for flexibility and breathability but also makes getting your preferred fit vital as it's not designed to stretch like many other textiles or raw materials over time.

Overall, the Nike Kyrie 4 is Nike's best performer this year. Its very well-rounded on all fronts in a way that makes the Kyrie 4 more like a Hyperdunk. There's just enough cushion for most, solid traction, fantastic fit and adequate support - and all of comes at a “team” friendly price point of $120.

Overall. I know some of my WearTesters colleagues have other shoes they would put above the Kyrie 8 performance-wise, but everyone agrees that it is one of the best basketball shoes of 2022. I personally think that the Kyrie 8 is the best basketball shoe of the year.

However, dust does stick on the rubber time to time but a few wipes should settle that. Last thing to note, the rubber is slightly soft and pliable so this shoe is definitely not an outdoor. To conclude, I feel that the Kyrie 4 is probably one of the top 10 shoes of this season.

Irving is not the only player still wearing Nike Kyrie shoes. It is apparent that his signature line remains one of the most popular choices among his colleagues. Earlier this summer, we covered the news that Irving's shoes are the favorite choice among WNBA players.

Although Nike Basketball design director Leo Chang crafted the first three installments of the Kyrie signature line, this time the company commissioned senior footwear designer Benjamin Nethongkome, who began at Nike as an intern in 2007.
