In this new featurette, we're introduced to the creatures and cast of "Strange Magic." There's the Bog King; Griselda, the Bog King's mom; Sunny the Elf; Dawn the Fairy; Roland the Fairy love interest; and Marianne the Fairy, just to name a few. There's also Chipper the squirrel and a mousey imp.
It is one of those movies you have to watch more than once to appreciate. The story is very short, but the music is very catchy and the characters are funny. I don't think the themes are too heavy for children but there is some things that younger children should not be exposed to.

The Bog King's design was based on a praying mantis and a cockroach. George Lucas wrote this film because he wanted to make a fun movie and a musical. The sisters Marianne and Dawn were to have long brown hair, but to save on animation costs it was changed to Marianne having short hair and Dawn having blonde.
it does have some mature themes such as drug use, alcohol, suicide. the developers of this game wanted to cater to high school aged teens. even in middle school, kids will experience this stuff, maybe not to the extent that this game portrays it. the message is good, the soundtrack is amazing.
Strange World is best suited to families with children over 5 but we recommend parental guidance for children aged 5-8 years.
