To get started with DIRECTV's On Demand service, go to Ch. 1000 to browse available TV content. You can also press the Menu button on your remote to search for a specific title. If you know which network shows the title you're interested in, you can also browse On Demand titles that way.

On-Demand content for rent or purchase is NOT FREE and every customer pays for it. Only on rare occasions will DIRECTV/DIRECTV STREAM grant one or a few free paid movies to a customer as a gift/promotion.

The channel's programming primarily consists of theatrically released films, along with a limited amount of original programming. The channel's name originally stood for American Movie Classics, but since 2002 the full name has been de-emphasized as a result of a major shift in its programming.
