Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is a 2023 American superhero film based on Marvel Comics featuring the characters Scott Lang / Ant-Man and Hope Pym / Wasp.

In Quantumania, the Quantum Realm is revealed to be the domain of Kang the Conqueror, a dangerous mass-murderer who has eliminated entire timelines and was exiled there by a council of Kang variants. Kang the Conqueror It's not a twist that Kang the Conqueror is the villain of Quantumania. He was named as such when the film was first announced, and he's been all over the marketing and pre-release narrative regarding his overall importance to the MCU's ongoing Multiverse Saga.

As a time traveler from the 31st century, Kang has access to technology and weaponry far beyond anything that 21st century Earth is capable of producing. With the resources at his disposal, Kang possesses mastery over time and space, as well as the power to battle armies single-handedly.

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania promises a journey into the Quantum Realm, yet the film could also be a multiverse story going by Kang's role in the MCU. Similar to what Thor: Ragnarok did to the Thor franchise, Quantumania is taking the Ant-Man & Wasp series in a different direction as part of the Multiverse Saga.

Directed by Peyton Reed, “Quantumania,” out Friday, will formally introduce Jonathan Majors as Kang the Conqueror, the supervillain expected to play a big role in the next series of Marvel Studios' film and TV projects as they march toward “Avengers: The Kang Dynasty,” announced for 2025.
