Xfinity X1 is Xfinity's TV box and DVR, which you get with Xfinity cable TV service ($49.99–$89.49 a month). It includes an even larger library of on-demand titles and supports hundreds of free and paid apps.

The Xfinity X1 is one of the best DVRs in the cable TV industry, primarily because of its features and technology. But the X1 might not be the best when it comes to pricing (it's not the worst either). It's difficult to compare pricing across all cable TV providers because all cable companies have different fees.

As noted, the X1 box requires Comcast Internet service as it goes through Comcast servers. You are better off using a SmartTV for apps or something like a Roku, Chromecast, or Firestick.
