SUDAFED PE® Sinus Pressure + Pain* Non-drowsy decongestant provides powerful relief of sinus congestion and pressure with pain, plus headaches. Each maximum strength tablet contains acetaminophen for pain relief and phenylephrine HCI.

Sudafed PE is used for short-term relief of nasal congestion from the common cold, sinusitis, upper respiratory allergies, and hay fever. The main active ingredient in Sudafed PE is phenylephrine. This drug relieves symptoms of congestion by narrowing the blood vessels in your nasal passages.

Each tablet contains 200mg of Ibuprofen and 10 mg of phenylephrine to temporarily relieve head and nasal congestion, sinus pressure, and other symptoms due to the common cold or flu.

Pseudoephedrine is used to relieve nasal or sinus congestion caused by the common cold, sinusitis, and hay fever and other respiratory allergies. It is also used to relieve ear congestion caused by ear inflammation or infection.

Extended-release (ER) tablets come in 12-hour and 24-hour versions, meaning you'd only take them once or twice a day. Oral phenylephrine only comes as an IR medication. You can take a dose once every 4 hours as needed, up to a maximum of 60 mg per day. You should only take oral decongestants for up to 7 days.

About Sudafed PSE relieves congestion by making the blood vessels in your nasal passages narrower. This opens up your nasal passages and allows your sinuses to drain. As a result, your nasal passages are clearer and you breathe more easily. Most forms of Sudafed only contain pseudoephedrine.

Phenylephrine (Sudafed PE) can raise your heart rate and blood pressure, even at recommended doses. If you've a history of heart conditions or high blood pressure, ask your provider if phenylephrine (Sudafed PE) is safe for you before taking it.
