Synopsis:

The TV spot opens with a mesmerizing shot of a moonlit sky, evoking a sense of tranquility and the passage of time. A hushed voiceover introduces us to the concept of Non-24, explaining that for those affected, each day is not a predictable set of hours but an ever-shifting journey guided solely by their internal rhythm.

As the camera gradually moves from the nighttime sky to a darkened bedroom, we meet Sarah, the main character. Sarah, an artist in her thirties, is portrayed as someone striving to navigate a world that revolves around the sun's movements while she dwells in a realm influenced by her own body's cues. Through Sarah's experiences, the viewers embark on a powerful exploration of her daily struggles and triumphs.

The commercial portrays Sarah's internal battle against her body's unique circadian rhythm, presenting vivid visuals that symbolize her disconnection from the external world. The audience witnesses her tossing and turning in the bed, night after night, as the world around her continues to sleep soundly. As the commercial progresses, vibrant day-to-day scenes unfold around Sarah, each illustrating her attempt to cherish the moments when her internal clock aligns with the rest of society. A beautiful sunrise at a park, an intimate conversation over coffee with a sympathetic friend, and her captivation by a colorful outdoor art exhibition symbolize the fleeting instances when time is in harmony for Non-24 patients.

The narration emphasizes the importance of understanding and support, encouraging viewers to recognize the daily battles that those with Non-24 face. Frequently Asked Questions about vanda pharmaceuticals tv spot, 'non-24'

Non-24-hour sleep-wake disorder (N24) is a circadian rhythm sleep disorder in which an individual's biological clock fails to synchronize to a 24-hour day. Instead of sleeping at roughly the same time every day, someone with N24 will typically find their sleep time gradually delaying by minutes to hours every day.

Hetlioz (tasimelteon) is also used to treat sleep disturbances in patients with Smith-Magenis Syndrome (SMS). It's the first and currently only FDA-approved treatment for people with non-24 and SMS. Since it's only available as a brand name, it can be expensive.

Non-24 is a circadian rhythm disorder and occurs because our internal clock is not synched with light and dark cycles of the day and night. Most individuals with this disorder are totally blind. That's because your internal clock gets its cue from seeing light. But sometimes people who have normal vision also get it.

Nobody knows how many people have N24, but it is very rare. It took a team of researchers [1] 10 years to find 57 cases. N24 was first discovered in 1971 and is “extremely debilitating in that it is incompatible with most social and professional obligations” [3].

HETLIOZ® (tasimelteon) is the first and only medication proven to treat Non-24. There's an FDA-approved therapy that may help you sleep at night and stay awake during the day. Ask your doctor about the first and only treatment for people who are totally blind with Non-24, called HETLIOZ® (tasimelteon).

Welcome to HETLIOZ® (tasimelteon) The first and only FDA-approved treatment for Non-24-Hour Sleep-Wake Disorder (Non-24).

Treatment for non-24-hour sleep-wake disorder (N24SWD) aims to establish a 24-hour sleep-wake cycle, or “entrain (synchronize) the circadian rhythm.” This process commonly involves using melatonin, bright light therapy, or other methods that are known to influence the circadian rhythm.

HETLIOZ® (tasimelteon) is the first and only medication proven to treat Non-24. There's an FDA-approved therapy that may help you sleep at night and stay awake during the day. There's no cure, but treatments, including hormones, medicine, and light therapy, can help get you closer to a normal sleeping pattern.

Although this sleep disorder is more common in blind people, affecting up to 70% of the totally blind, it can also affect sighted people. Non-24 may also be comorbid with bipolar disorder, depression, and traumatic brain injury.

Some drugs say "24 hour" or "12 hour." You can buy both versions of Sudafed, for example, and each comes with a "long-acting" claim. All it means is that their active ingredients are released during a certain amount of time. Our advice: Read instructions, even for products that claim to last a certain number of hours.
