Set the desired cooking temperature. Wait for the oven to preheat. Once preheated place a foil lined tray onto the lower rack. Place the airfryer tray onto the suggested rack position for your recipe.

Lo and behold, the convection setting. Among the different knobs and buttons on your oven, you might see a setting deemed "convection," which is really a sneaky culinary synonym for air frying. Your regular, full-size oven likely already has this setting, meaning you can use your full-size oven to "air fry" foods.

A good general rule of thumb when converting a conventional oven recipe to an air fryer recipe is to reduce the temperature by 25-50°F and reduce the cooking time by about 20%. However, this is a general rule and different recipes will vary. It's always better to start the timer low and check your food often.

We don't recommend cooking anything lower than 350° in the air fryer - you likely wouldn't get any crispiness! Check your food about halfway through, and if you feel the food is already getting too dark or feel the heat is too high, you can turn down the heat another 25 degrees.
