There's a lot to like about the Fire TV Cube. Its small, boxy design is both cute and sleek, and it looks good in a TV cabinet. Its built-in mic and speakers are also capable of controlling a TV using just Alexa. To top it all off, the Cube also connects directly to a cable box so Alexa can control that, too.

Tip: Before linking your Alexa-enabled device and Fire TV, check that you have the latest version of the Alexa app.

1. Open the Alexa app .
2. Open More and select Settings .
3. Select TV & Video.
4. Select Fire TV.
5. Select Link Your Alexa Device and follow the on-screen instructions.

With Alexa on Fire TV Cube or Alexa Voice Remote (2nd Gen), you can also control compatible smart home devices like lights, locks, thermostats, and more through the cloud. Other types of devices including gaming consoles and media players (such as DVD and Blu-ray players) are not supported.

Your Fire TV Cube includes something called an IR blaster, which means you can use it to control most devices that use IR remotes. That includes most televisions, soundbars, Blu-ray and DVD players, and a variety of other home entertainment devices.

Fire TV is a set of streaming devices developed by Amazon, that lets you stream millions of live and on-demand video content on your TV, using the internet.

Then wait five seconds and remove the batteries from your remote plug your Fire TV stick back into the power outlet. And wait another 60 Seconds.

There's no external IR blaster included in the box, despite the fact that the Fire TV Cube supports one - so you'll need to buy one separately, if necessary. The Fire TV Cube has a speaker built into it, however, that speaker is really there as a way to use the Cube as an Alexa speaker when the TV isn't on.

Control Fire TV: "Alexa, [pause, play, resume, stop, fast-forward, rewind] on Fire TV." Search movies or TV: "Alexa, search for [movie to TV show title] on Fire TV" or, "Alexa, find [movie or TV show title] on Fire TV." Find work by a certain actor: "Alexa, show me titles with [actor] on Fire TV."

Designed to be an incredibly compact streaming device, the Fire TV Stick connects to your TV's HDMI port and gives you access to favorite apps including Netflix, Prime Video, Hulu, Disney+, and more on almost any TV.

Any TV with an HDMI port will work with the Fire TV Cube, as will most cable/satellite boxes, A/V receivers, and soundbars. It can also control compatible smart home functions like locks, lights, thermostats, and more via Alexa.
