The commercial begins with Serena walking onto a tennis court, dressed in all black, with nothing but determination on her face. As the camera shifts to a close-up of her, she states, "I'm a champion. And migraines didn't change that." This statement sets the tone for the rest of the commercial, as we see Serena playing fiercely, even as the pain from a migraine begins to set in.

As she hits a ball to her opponent, the screen splits to reveal a visual of a migraine and the painful symptoms that come with it, including throbbing headaches and nausea. But Serena isn't deterred, and as she continues to play, the screen continues to split between the two visuals.

The music grows more intense as Serena uses her mental and physical strength to power through the pain. The voiceover states, "When migraine strikes, hit back with UBRELVY, the migraine relief that tackles pain fast."

After years of struggling with migraine, tennis superstar Serena Williams and gold medal-winning gymnast Aly Raisman have found relief with UBRELVY.

5, 2020 /PRNewswire/ -- AbbVie today announced Serena Williams as the spokesperson for UBRELVY® to raise awareness of an effective acute treatment option for people living with migraine.

No, Ubrelvy (generic name: ubrogepant) is not a narcotic (opioid) and is not a controlled substance. It does not cause addiction. Ubrelvy, from Allergan, is classified as an oral calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP) receptor antagonist (also called a "gepant").

The first in a different class of acute treatments for migraine, UBRELVY is an oral, non-narcotic pill taken during a migraine attack. Unlike older migraine medications, it directly blocks a protein, known as CGRP, believed to play a major role in migraine attacks.

Ubrelvy (ubrogepant) is a calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP) receptor blocker. High levels of CGRP cause pain and inflammation, which commonly leads to migraines. Ubrelvy (ubrogepant) blocks CGRP to prevent it from causing pain and inflammation, which leads to relief of migraines.

Some of the most common Ubrelvy side effects include nausea, fatigue, and dry mouth. Ubrelvy can also cause allergic reactions, which may include swelling of the face, mouth, tongue, or throat. Talk to your healthcare provider or pharmacist if you have questions or concerns about Ubrelvy side effects.

Ubrogepant, sold under the brand name Ubrelvy, is a medication used for the acute (immediate) treatment of migraine with or without aura (a sensory phenomenon or visual disturbance) in adults.

It helps to relieve headache, pain, and other migraine symptoms (including nausea, vomiting, sensitivity to light/sound). Prompt treatment helps you return to your normal routine and may decrease your need for other pain medications.

Triptans. Prescription drugs such as sumatriptan (Imitrex, Tosymra) and rizatriptan (Maxalt, Maxalt-MLT) are used to treat migraine because they block pain pathways in the brain. Taken as pills, shots or nasal sprays, they can relieve many symptoms of migraine.

Ubrogepant is used to treat acute migraine headaches with or without aura. It is not used to prevent migraine headaches. Ubrogepant works in the brain to relieve the pain from migraine headaches.

It helps to relieve headache, pain, and other migraine symptoms (including nausea, vomiting, sensitivity to light/sound). Prompt treatment helps you return to your normal routine and may decrease your need for other pain medications.
