With its updated exterior design and roomy interior, crafted from top- quality materials, the MINI Clubman is the most sophisticated sports hatchback we've ever made. If that's not enough, its split rear doors and optional ALL4 all-wheel drive put it in a class of its own. View Inventory.
Its debut actually came in 1969, when it was produced in multiple versions, one being the Clubman Estate. Back then it was intended to represent a new, more mature Mini.
The use of the name "Clubman" is a departure from Mini tradition. "Clubman" was originally the name given to the 1970s facelift of the classic Mini, which mostly resulted in a squared-off front end, whereas the classic Mini estates had traditionally been named "Traveller" or "Countryman".
The Clubman is a longer and wider version of the four-door Cooper and shares its platform with the BMW X1. The four-cylinder turbo engine is punchy and sounds sporty. Handling is quite nimble, but the ride is very firm and road noise is pronounced. Unlike the regular Coopers, the Clubman's back seat is habitable.
