The Sonos One is a smart speaker developed by Sonos, announced on October 4, 2017 and released on October 24. The speaker contains a six-microphone array, allowing use of the virtual assistants, Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. In 2018, the smart speaker added support for Apple's AirPlay 2.

Our Analysis and Test Results. The Sonos PLAY:1 is the best sounding of the small speakers we tested, and the Sonos ecosystem makes it the perfect building block for a multiple speaker system. However, its lack of a Bluetooth connection may feel somewhat limiting if you want to use it as a standalone speaker.

If you want a portable speaker to take anywhere, a Bluetooth speaker like the Bose SoundLink Mini is a better choice. But if you want to build a home audio system, the Sonos Play:1 is a great starting point and earns our Editors' Choice for multi-room speakers. Incredibly easy to set up. Affordable.

Despite its age and the fact that it has a successor in the Era 100, the Sonos One remains one of the best smart speakers on the market.
