This is an ownvoices book about Stella, who has Asperger's syndrome. Convinced she needs lessons on how to be good at sex and relationships, she hires Michael, an escort, to teach her.

Helen HoangThe Bride Test / Author About the Author Helen Hoang is that shy person who never talks. Until she does. And the worst things fly out of her mouth. She read her first romance novel in eighth grade and has been addicted ever since.

econometrician Stella Lane is a successful econometrician with autism whose life revolves around her work. When her mother tells her that she would like grandchildren the same day her coworker Phillip tells her she needs to “practice” sex, Stella decides to hire an escort to act as her tutor.

The Bride Test is a sweet, cute, sexy and funny romance, but it is also the story of an uneducated Vietnamese immigrant coming to the United States. This aspect is loosely-based on Hoang's mother's experiences, and it is the tale of an incredibly brave woman defying the odds and clawing her way up from almost nothing.

There is an element of romance in this book but not over the top. Although it never quite feels very real either. The main story line of the test, and Cia's goals and hope are still the focus.

The spice level of the story was pretty high, which I kind of expected, to be honest. They were done really well, and I loved seeing Stella learn to unwind and enjoy making physical contact with another person, on her terms.

This book is also spicy and we have a few mature scenes but in my opinion there are way more sex scenes in the Kiss Quotient.

Khai arrives at the wedding and tells Esme he loves her (in Vietnamese!!). She finally tells him about Jade, her daughter, and it's lovely. They get back together. In the epilogue, Esme (now using her name My) graduates from Stanford and she and Khai plan to get married.

In a scarred and brutal future, The United Commonwealth teeters on the brink of all-out civil war. The rebel resistance plots against a government that rules with cruelty and cunning. Gifted student and Testing survivor, Cia Vale, vows to fight. But she can't do it alone.

An LGBT romantic comedy with a twist from the Comedy Women in Print prize winner Laura Steven, author of The Exact Opposite of Okay.

This is not to say that she is cold and unfeeling. She dotes on her two nieces, and her loving relationship with her younger sister borders on co-dependent. I give the steam level a 4.5, as there were multiple spicy scenes but very little explicit description. The tension was FIRE, though.
