Although many people believe the concept of Lean originated with Henry Ford and Toyota in the 1900s, its roots can actually be traced back to Venice in the 1450s. Lean is a concept or way of thinking that focuses on eliminating waste and streamlining processes to save time, space, materials and money.

The history of Lean really begins with Henry Ford who set up a very productive organization around the "Flow" that started with raw materials and ended when the customer left with his car. Nestlé Lean Cuisine is a brand of frozen entrées and dinners sold in the United States by Nestlé, and in Australia by Vesco (under a licensing agreement with Nestlé). The brand began as low-fat, low-calorie versions of Stouffer's products.

Tips for Lean Cuisine Weight Loss First, use meals sparingly. Include them in your daily diet if enjoy the flavor and convenience of Smart Ones or Lean Cuisine. In 1973, the Stouffer Corporation was acquired from Litton by Nestle S.A. During the 50th anniversary of the company that he founded, Stouffer unveiled Lean Cuisine. Nestle continues to market Stouffer frozen foods, including the popular Lean Cuisine brand.
