Verdict The Cadenza offers luxury-car comfort and features at a steep discount versus premium-badged rivals.

The Kia Cadenza performs well, especially for a luxury-style vehicle. According to repairpal.com, the Cadenza scores ⅘. This score puts it in the top four compared to other full-size cars.

Kia tells us that shifting customer demand led to the change, which isn't a surprise. There remains a healthy interest at Kia in sedans, at least in higher-volume market segments. The all-new K5 sedan, which replaced the Optima, gives the Honda Accord a real run for its money.

The cadenza provides an opportunity for a composer to write something fun and exciting outside of the structure of the main piece, but also gives the soloist a moment to shine all alone. When the composer and soloist were one and the same, like Mozart was or Beethoven (early in his career), this was advantageous.
