What is Jose Cuervo Tradicional?
Jose Cuervo Tradicional is a premium tequila brand that represents the essence of Mexico's beloved spirit. It is made from 100% blue Weber agave, and its recipe has been unchanged since 1795 when Don Jose Maria Guadalupe de Cuervo founded his distillery in Jalisco, Mexico.
The agave used in the production of Jose Cuervo Tradicional is grown in the highlands of Jalisco, where the soil and climate are perfect for producing high-quality agave. The hearts of the agave are harvested by hand after reaching maturity, then slow-roasted for 72 hours in traditional brick ovens. This process gives the tequila a sweet and smoky flavor that sets it apart from other tequilas.
After roasting, the agave is crushed using traditional tahona stones to extract the juice, which is then fermented using natural yeast. The fermented juice is then distilled twice using copper stills, which help to refine its smoothness and complexity.
Jose Cuervo Tradicional is available in three varieties: Blanco, Reposado, and Añejo. The Blanco is unaged and perfect for making cocktails, while the Reposado is aged for 6 months in oak barrels, giving it a smooth and subtle caramel flavor. The Añejo, on the other hand, is aged for at least one year, resulting in a full-bodied tequila with notes of vanilla and oak.
One unique aspect of Jose Cuervo Tradicional is its commitment to sustainability. The company uses only recycled materials for its bottles, and they have implemented several environmentally friendly practices in their production process to reduce their carbon footprint.
Overall, Jose Cuervo Tradicional is a testament to the heritage and craftsmanship of tequila production in Mexico. Its smoothness, complexity, and commitment to sustainability make it a top choice among tequila aficionados worldwide.

This is my favorite for Margaritas...as it is not aged it has the original "fruity" Tequila flavor. A bit more expensive than some others, but worth it. Would also be great for shots with sangrita.
