Medium roast coffee is a brown color and rarely has an oily surface. These coffees have a medium acidity and body, as well as a rounded flavor profile. Roasting to this level also preserves many of the unique flavors of the coffee's origin, but it also begins to reach into the deep caramel sweetness of a longer roast.

Medium Roast coffees are brown and have a little thicker body than a Light Roast. Unlike Light, Medium starts to take on a bit of the taste from the roasting process, losing some of the bright floral flavors that are typical of a Light Roast.

Jacksonville, Florida Of its major manufacturing facilities, the third was established by Maxwell House in Jacksonville, Florida. This continues as its single operating plant today. The company first produced its coffee in Hoboken, New Jersey; this plant closed in the early 1990s.

Raw coffee beans arrive in Jacksonville by ship and are sent to a Westside facility for cleaning and blending before being brought to the plant for roasting, grinding and packing. The product is then transferred to a Westside warehouse for distribution. It celebrated 100 years in 2010.

It seems much for budget friendly, buying two cans instead of one at Walmart. As far as the quality goes, it's maxwell house, it's always going to be great coffee. Exactly what I expected. Shipment and packaging was great, arrived on time.

Medium roast coffees are well-loved for their rounded flavor profile and balanced body. They are less acidic and fruity than a light roast but not as rich as a dark roast. The words often used to describe the taste of medium coffees are sweet, chocolatey, mellow, and smooth.

As a cold coffee, medium roast makes a balanced and sweet cold brew. It can also be brewed (hot) double strength and poured over ice to retain balanced acidity and fruity notes. Brewed hot, we believe our medium roast is most delicious brewed as a pour over, chemex or even espresso style.

Medium roasts are most potent in the polyphenol chlorogenic acid (CGA), a powerful antioxidant that gives coffee its health-boosting benefits. CGA helps with everything from reducing inflammation to repairing cell damage, lowering cholesterol and improving your complexion.

Light roast coffees are less bitter, sweeter, and can have a citrus aroma. While dark roasts carry a more pronounced bitterness with an aroma reminiscent of nuts or chocolate. Medium roasts are more balanced in that they have body while still carrying complex brighter notes.

The most basic difference between the two is that a dark roast is roasted longer than a medium roast. The extra roasting time causes the resulting coffee to have a bolder taste with less acidity. However, that additional roasting also removes much of the individual flavour and character of the coffee beans in question.
