What is DASANI? DASANI is a brand of purified water manufactured and distributed by The Coca-Cola Company®. How is DASANI made? To create DASANI water, we start with the local water supply, which is then filtered for purity using a state-of-the-art process called reverse osmosis.

Most facilities that purify and bottle DASANI procure water from municipal water systems. At a few plants, however, water is obtained from protected groundwater sources managed by the bottling plant, with approvals from local authorities.

The low pH does make the water taste bad in our opinion, and many online reviewers say similar, but this is not a health issue. Dasani actually publishes annually-updated test results proving that their water is free of harmful contaminants.

Dasani is largely sourced from municipal supplies and then filtered in bottled water plants before being bottled. Places Dasani sources its water from include: California, Minnesota, Arizona, Colorado, and Michigan. Dasani also bottles internationally, in locations such as Kent in the United Kingdom and Malaysia.

Dasani bottled water contains four ingredients: tap water, magnesium sulfate, potassium chloride, and salt. The Dasani label claims these ingredients are added for taste, and while that may be true, these ingredients change a lot more than taste.

DASANI water is purified and enhanced with a proprietary blend of minerals to give it the clean, fresh taste you want from water. And it's packaged in 100% recyclable* bottle for you to refill, reuse and recycle.

Purified water usually comes from groundwater or tap water. It's treated in a water processing plant to remove impurities and contaminants. You can also purchase in-home filters to purify your tap water.
