The entertainment conglomerate confirmed that it is merging and rebranding its two streaming services, HBO Max and Discovery+, as one mega service called "Max."

It'll launch on May 23 in the US and is expected to roll out in new international markets by 2024. Is Discovery Plus going away? No, despite HBO Max merging with Discovery Plus, Discovery Plus will still be its own streaming service with separate plans. Its content will also be available on Max.

HBO Max Discovery+ became a sister service to WarnerMedia's HBO Max following their merger in April 2022. HBO Max was relaunched as Max the following year, adding Discovery content to its library.
