Who is Seth Macfarlane?
Seth MacFarlane is an American actor, writer, producer, and director who is widely known for his work in animation. MacFarlane first rose to fame for creating and voicing several characters for the animated TV show, Family Guy, which debuted in 1999. Since then, he has gone on to create several other successful animated shows, including American Dad and The Cleveland Show.
While MacFarlane is primarily known for his work in animation, he has also dabbled in live-action acting. In 2012, he wrote, produced, and directed the western comedy film, Ted, which also starred Mark Wahlberg and Mila Kunis. MacFarlane voiced the titular character, a foul-mouthed teddy bear who comes to life. The film was a huge commercial success, grossing over $549 million worldwide.
Following the success of Ted, MacFarlane has continued to work on both animated and live-action projects. In 2014, he starred in and created the live-action FOX TV show, Dads, which he executive produced alongside Alec Sulkin and Wellesley Wild. The show, however, was short-lived and only lasted one season.
In addition to his TV and film work, MacFarlane is also an accomplished voice actor. He has lent his voice to several other animated projects, including the animated series, The Orville, which he created and stars in.
MacFarlane has been nominated for numerous awards for his work in animation, including 13 Primetime Emmy Awards. He has also been recognized for his philanthropic work, including his donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and his support of gay rights. Overall, MacFarlane is a multi-talented actor and creator who has left a lasting impact on the entertainment industry.
