Seth MacFarlane is an American actor, writer, producer, and director who is widely known for his work in animation. MacFarlane first rose to fame for creating and voicing several characters for the animated TV show, Family Guy, which debuted in 1999. Since then, he has gone on to create several other successful animated shows, including American Dad and The Cleveland Show.
While MacFarlane is primarily known for his work in animation, he has also dabbled in live-action acting. In 2012, he wrote, produced, and directed the western comedy film, Ted, which also starred Mark Wahlberg and Mila Kunis. MacFarlane voiced the titular character, a foul-mouthed teddy bear who comes to life. The film was a huge commercial success, grossing over $549 million worldwide.
Following the success of Ted, MacFarlane has continued to work on both animated and live-action projects. In 2014, he starred in and created the live-action FOX TV show, Dads, which he executive produced alongside Alec Sulkin and Wellesley Wild. The show, however, was short-lived and only lasted one season.
