Red Stag by Jim Beam is a wildly delicious combination of black cherry liqueur infused with Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey. As one of the pioneers of flavored bourbon, it blazed uncharted paths to become known and loved for its balance of soft, dark cherry aromas backed by traditional bourbon oakiness.

The name Red Stag refers to the majestic elks, led by proud Red Stags that roamed the Kentucky Mountains in the time J. Beam started producing Bourbon. Unfortunately they were hunted down to extinction but were re-introduced in 1997.

2009 Red Stag by Jim Beam was first released in 2009 and is bottled at 35 percent alcohol by volume (ABV, 70 proof).

The brand name became "Jim Beam" in 1943 in honor of James B. Beam, who rebuilt the business after Prohibition ended. Previously produced by the Beam family and later owned by the Fortune Brands holding company, the brand was purchased by Suntory Holdings in 2014.

The Red Stag is one of the largest deer species in the world. Red Stag were introduced to Argentina in 1906 in the region of the Caldén woodlands in the province of La Pampa. In the 1920s Red Stag were introduced to the Andean foothills, and then were introduced into Chile around 1928.

The origins of the name bourbon are extremely uncertain. However, the most prominent contenders are Bourbon County in Kentucky and Bourbon Street in New Orleans. Both took their names from the House of Bourbon, a European royal house of French origin.
