It represents the wisdom of the sorcerer Agamotto and his fellow Vishanti, allowing Strange to see his enemies' true intentions and break magical illusions. Doctor Strange's third eye is originally a sign of a higher level of consciousness, and it can only be used by those whose souls are devoid of corruption.

He is interrupted by the arrival on the street of a purple-clad woman, played by none other than Charlize Theron. The character she's playing is Clea - in the comics, a future Sorcerer Supreme and the wife of Doctor Strange. Clea does not seem pleased at all with Strange, who definitely doesn't recognise her.

Revisiting both Spider-Man: No Way Home and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, there was barely any narrative connection between the films, other than the fact that they both dealt with the burgeoning Marvel multiverse. Granted that the Raimi-directed flick name-dropped Spider-Man, but that was about it.

It's also implied in the trailer that the events of Doctor Strange 2 are a direct consequence of Strange's actions in No Way Home (the trailer opens with Wong telling Strange to “not cast that spell”), so at least the beginning of the movie will be set not long after the ending of No Way Home.
