McDonald's has rebranded its crispy chicken sandwich to the McCrispy. According to the company's website, the (trademarked) McCrispy includes a white meat chicken filet, crinkle cut pickles and a buttered potato roll.

The commercials take a food porn approach, playing up delectable shots of the new sandwich in its three forms – Spicy, Crispy, and Deluxe. The voice-over is by actor Brian Cox (who has spoken in previous McDonald's ads over the past year) and backed by an exclusive soundtrack created by music producer Tay Keith plays.

History. The sandwich, originally introduced in 1980, proved to be a sales disappointment and was later replaced with the highly successful Chicken McNuggets. However, following the success of McNuggets, the McChicken was reintroduced in 1988.

McDonald's is now trying to do one better, by releasing three different kinds of chicken sandwiches, all at once. McDonald's Crispy Chicken Sandwich will be available nationwide beginning Wednesday, Feb. 24, and will feature a crispy fillet.
