1978 Marco's Pizza was started back in 1978 by Pasquale “Pat” Giammarco. During his childhood in Italy, he learned the art of attention to detail and making sure to do things the right way. When he opened his first restaurant here in America, he brought that authentic Italian touch to his pizza.

Crust. A large number of people say that what determines whether a pizza is perfect is the crust! It doesn't matter whether you are a deep pan crust lover, a thin crust lover, a handtossed crust lover, or a stuffed crust pie lover, one of the most important things to pie lovers is just how well their crust is cooked.

“We use a fresh blend of three cheeses, never frozen,” he says. “Our dough is made on site daily. The sauce is made daily, with a special secret spice recipe. We have people that just grow Marco's tomatoes.”

A striking still life fresco resembling a pizza has been found among the ruins of ancient Pompeii, although the dish seems to lack two essential ingredients – tomato and mozzarella – and includes an item that looks suspiciously like a pineapple.
