2015 Kia K900 TV commercial - Sport Mode

In 2015, Kia launched a new advertising campaign to promote their latest luxury sedan, the Kia K900. One of the most memorable TV spots from this campaign was titled "Sport Mode."

The ad begins with a close-up of the K900's dashboard as the driver's finger hovers over the "Sport Mode" button. With a flick of the switch, the car transforms into a sleek and powerful machine, shifting gears and accelerating down an empty highway.

As the car winds through a series of tight turns and open stretches, the driver's narration explains the benefits of Sport Mode, from tighter handling to increased horsepower. The camera pans over the car's luxuriously appointed interior, highlighting its advanced technology and premium materials.

The spot ends with a final shot of the K900 speeding off into the distance, leaving behind a trail of dust and inspiring viewers to imagine themselves behind the wheel.

Overall, Kia's 2015 TV spot for the K900 effectively emphasized the car's combination of luxury and performance, while showcasing its advanced technology and sleek design. The Sport Mode button acted as a metaphor for the car's ability to transform from a sophisticated cruiser to a potent sports sedan with dynamism and power.

2015 Kia K900 TV commercial - Sport Mode produced for Kia was first shown on television on January 30, 2015.

And you'll see that the outside colors are changing based on what drive mode we're in you can also when you put the car in drive. And you move the shifter over to the left there. The S will light up.

Despite its being the quickest Kia we've ever tested - sprinting to 60 mph in 5.5 seconds and covering the quarter-mile in 14.1 at 101 mph - the K900 never feels particularly athletic or engaging.

Compared with the similarly priced and mechanically related 2015 Hyundai Equus, the K900 doesn't offer a smooth-riding air suspension option, but otherwise, they're effectively equals.

As on every K900, an eight-speed automatic and rear-wheel drive are standard. All-wheel drive is not available. The EPA estimates that it will return 20 mpg combined (17 city/26 highway).

The Sport mode is for an extra thrilling & aggressive driving experience. Sport mode gives a quicker throttle response for a sporty drive, meaning the car accelerates more readily. In addition, more fuel is introduced into the engine to increase the available power.

  1. The steering effort, the engine and transmission control logic is automatically adjusted for enhanced driver performance.
  2. The SPORT indicator will illuminate.
  3. Whenever the engine is restarted, the drive mode sets to NORMAL mode.

149 mph The 5.0-liter V-8 moves the Kia to 60 mph in just 5.5 seconds, and the sedan can hit 149 mph.

The version we tested hustled from zero to 60 mph in 5.0 seconds, and its powertrain helped moved this bougie barge with quiet authority around town and on the highway. The K900's cushy ride lives up to its luxury mission, but don't expect much feedback from its steering.

Full air suspension is an automatic, adjustable solution to a suspension problem where the existing leaf or coil spring suspension is replaced by a full air suspension system. Depending on the make and model of vehicle, full air suspension is available for both the front and rear axle.

An air suspension replaces (or supplements) a vehicle's springs with air-filled bladders that can adjust the ride height and firmness for the driving conditions.

(Full Disclosure: Kia let me borrow a K900 for a week, and dropped it off at my house with a full tank of gas.) There was something else I liked about the car, too – something more realistic. Sure it has a lovely interior, roomy trunk, and a 150-mph top speed. But more importantly, it's also a good deal.

The K900 in the US uses a 426 PS (313 kW; 420 bhp) 5.0-litre (5,038 cc) GDI V8, producing 376 lb⋅ft (510 N⋅m) of torque.
