Reliability 6/10 – There are still some engine problems on the 2018 Tucson, however, they're not as widespread as in earlier years. Avoid models from 2016–2018, while 2019–2022 are much more reliable. Performance 7/10 – Performance is okay from all of the four-cylinder engines, although none are particularly fast.

The Hyundai Tucson Limited possesses all of the features available in the Tucson Sport, but it adds even more upgrades. The Limited boasts chrome exterior trim, a heated steering wheel, full leather upholstery, and a power controlled passenger seat.

Both the standard 164-hp 2.0L engine and the available 181-hp 2.4L engine are paired with a six-speed automatic transmission. The optional turbocharged 1.6L 175-hp engine gets a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.

The Hyundai Tucson delivers a lot of value for the money, providing a comfortable ride and helpful technology features. We also like its upscale-feeling cabin and roomy cargo space. Unfortunately it's dogged by a sluggish engine that has trouble keeping pace when the traffic speeds up.

The Tucson also offers much more powerful 2-liter diesel and petrol powertrains when compared to the Creta. Lastly, the Tucson is much safer thanks to its Hyundai Smartsense ADAS suite which the Creta lacks.

The SEL trim level adds equipment like a sunroof, roof rails, and optional 20-inch wheels. The Limited builds on the SEL's equipment by adding auto wipers and a dual-pane sunroof.

As there's no advantage in fuel economy terms, we'd recommend the diesels unless you cover a very low annual mileage. The 1.6-litre 'T-GDi' turbocharged petrol engine is better, though.

Engine, Transmission, and Performance A 187-hp 2.5-liter four-cylinder is standard and comes with an eight-speed automatic and either front or all-wheel drive. The Tucson offers adequate pep for both city driving and highway passing maneuvers, but lead-footed drivers will yearn for more power.
